Meet My Great Great Great Great Uncle Ned (Hand Carved Wood Figurine)

Say hello to my Great Great Great Great Great Great (really great!!) Uncle Ned. He comes from my mother's next door neighbor's 3rd cousin (twice removed) side of the family.

During medieval times my Uncle Ned worked as a Gong Farmer. In fact, he was the very first person to organize the Gonger's (as they were called back then) into a union. After all, those were tough times to live and he had a reputation for not taking crap from just anyone!

During his retirement from Gonging, his co-workers from Gonger Local 434 presented him with this wonderful hand carved wood figurine of himself. He was delighted with this unique gift and promised to cherish it for as long as he lived.

For centuries, Uncle Ned was lost. We all thought it was just a fanciful story. However, we recently rediscovered Uncle Ned while cleaning out a family members' house. Needless to say, we were delighted to find it as it was missing for generations.

However, there are some in my family that say this isn't the REAL Uncle Ned! They are claiming this is a recent forgery and not as old as Uncle Ned himself.

Personally, I am torn between both sides. While it looks OLD, it is ancient or antique or modern? It's made from wood and has some gold gilt paint remaining.
