Still figuring out art. Those pieces are lovely.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I found 83 pieces of King Edward silverplate, Holiday pattern, in an antique mall, for $35 in a zip lock baggie last week. Today thrifting, I found a cheapo flatware box (I mean cheapo, made in China) for $8, so I put it together. Lots of spoons, a set of 12 butter spreaders? 12 dinner forks that weren't made into bracelets. Put it all together today.

Nice box! Yes, those short things in front of the spoons are butter spreaders.

Yeah-- the picture of the boat from @all_fakes makes it even more interesting to me-- is it a personal photo I wonder?

I was headed to a semi-annual barn sale, spotted someone putting up an estate sale sign. The sale was not advertised. Although traffic was heavy, I managed a U-turn....so glad I did. No jewelry, alas, but seriously cool stuff anyway that they were begging people to take.

It was a picker's paradise. The garage was crammed full, boxes all over. I got mostly newer stuff, but it has worth. She must have had a lot of jewelry the family took, there were two big jewelry cabinets empty.

So, the estate sale....I should have been adventurous and opened more boxes...I stuck to the display cabinets. The bench I posted earlier (thanks to Bluumz, I found out it is a banker's bench), and everything, including the bench, was $50.
Ceramic frogs- they had a huge toad in the living room I should have bought for $5.

Fitz and Floyd stuff. The money is in the geisha teapot.
20220904_105109.jpg Evidently these are rare bud vases- one is listed on ebay for $77 with a lot of watchers.

I know this Royal Satsuma isn't worth much, but it's so pretty. The dragon salad plate is a rare color, Fitz and Floyd

would there be more money still, for the pair of teapots..??

Well, the geisha sells for $125, the samauri for $30....don't think the pair would generate much more. The koi bowl manufacturer was identified on the glass/pottery board, Chinese modern, can't find another like it on the internet. The geisha bud vases seem to be rarer, one is listed on ebay for $77, with watchers. The dragon salad plate, around $30. The frogs seem to go for $35 a piece. The newer Satsuma, no idea, $20 for the coin set. The cutlery crab, about $40, it holds a cup. While the banker's bench has wear, one in good condition sold for $1,500. Companies also rent them out as props.

That banker's bench looks like an overgrown office chair, probably for good reason. Also looks like tough stuff.

(sigh) But even so, worth digging in the master bath and the bedroom. Jewelry goes into weird places and not everyone checks the drawers. Found bar stock sterling that way once, for pennies.

I was at a sale not too long ago and a fella I knew showed me a shoe box filled with jewelry that was in the china cabinet. People running the sale must have missed it somehow or it was just junk. Not being a joolie I had not a clue.

I found her prescription meds loose in a lot of things and the boxed ashes of her pets in the bedroom closet.

Whoa! What happens here is the estate sellers won't put it out- they "buy" it.

Marko if only I was a joolie I would have known was it worth looking at or not.:(
My best find regarding money in a unseen place was in a biscuit jar that had about $5 in it. And a vintage wallet that I purchased that had a few dollars in it.

And I have you to thank for these. You said you would have grabbed that 10k necklace and scrapped it, so we went grocery shopping near that thrift today. The necklace was still there for $10
    20220904_184014.jpg
So was this- I thought it was sterling and gold vermeil, but it's all 14k and diamonds, $10.
    20220904_184027.jpg
And good thing I checked the racks one more time....this was there. I saw markings on the chain and pendant. Oh goody, I thought- sterling, cz, and vermeil for $2.50!
    20220904_184328.jpg
But when I got home, louped it, and checked the stones with the Presidium, I found that the chain is 14k and the pendant is 14k, diamonds, and a pink topaz.
