Featured Tower adjustable shackle lock.

Did someone modify it?
I know tower made vintage cuffs.
What would this lock or secure?

Never seen this design, very intrigued to know for what it's made, for me this is the 70's quality, actually they are more secure than newer as the … who broke those items have no material to cut the old well made ones, now they are sold as more difficult to open but nobody try to pen them, just cut or broke, and the old ones need more power.
It was an expensive item at the time, nicely made but not water resistant as it is and need the use of a good water repellent spray.

 

put a deck of cards next to it or give us the size.....i see the key...but keep looking at it like it's a lot bigger than it actually is.....

 

tha t round disc now makes me think it could cover a ......tap of some kind....

 

Welds look home-done, DIY project for a unique requirement. Probably started life as a Tower bicycle lock. The faucet idea sounds like a good possibility, maybe a farm’s fuel tank and they didn’t want night visitors stealing the fuel.

Alrighty a little more insight.
Its smaller than I thought.
Fits on a door knob and has patten pending marked on it.
So not someone's home built.
It's either to keep someone out from accessing the lock on a door or to keep someone from getting to a valve.

If that was a valve instead of a door knob...I'm thinking I could still turn it somewhat..but if it were a cap for a fuel tank.....not enough to get it off !
And yes...it would prevent me from picking that lock........too !!
But the door handle the way you show it ...looks very promising !

I've been trying, he puts in more work then I do on the sorting and selling.
It's what he does with his spare time, I've got work, wife, house and 100+ things on the to do list before I get to play with things that I'd like to do.

 

We haven't those door knobs but after your pictures it can clearly be made for that, protecting from a key which open all doors when you are in a hotel?
