It was made as shown, as though someone put half the necklace on backwards. It almost has to be Native American, and there's a triangle mark stamped into the largest piece. It looks like it wants to be a bracelet but...dunno. DSCF8578.JPG DSCF8579.JPG DSCF8581.JPG DSCF8582.JPG DSCF8583.JPG

    Hmmm.....interesting!
Yes, it appears to be Native American. Most likely Navajo.
It does not look Anglo-made at all.
And it looks like it has some age, looking at that notched bezel style. The turquoise has darkened from age as well. The black veining is interesting. Is there pyrite in the veining? Maybe Kingman.
I don't know why it would be made that way. Are the links soldered? That middle connector is weird, too.
    How long is it?

It's all soldered. It's a hair over 14 inches, so doubling up as a bracelet would work. If it worked, which it doesn't. That loop thingie in the middle looks like a kid made it, which would explain the rest - kid art in silver form.

Yeah, it could be a student piece. Out here in the Southwest, there's a lot of bad NA jewelry as well as top notch!

That would explain it. How it got to CT is anyone's guess. It's the right length for an old school choker, but (scratches head).

Do you think the hook somehow goes into the larger part of the double loop? To make a two strand bracelet? I'm wondering why that connector has a large end and a small end. And why is the hook facing the wrong way ....
Maybe these components came from something else, like a hat band, and someone joined them together into this Franken- piece.

There's only one hook, but I was wondering if one end was supposed to be a small loop with the hook going into the figure eight-thingie. The longer bit would dangle, which would work for a weird watch chain I suppose.

It's quite possible that there is a big missing section, and that's why this thing makes no sense!

Maybe it's a slave bracelet with the ring part missing?

I just can't see NA here either, too crudely made, almost disrespectful of the turquoise. I think we need to look at a different part of the world. @Any Jewelry

Seven inches is standard bracelet length. I had this thought too, that if one half was folded back to the other, they would both face the same way up, but can't see then how the clasp would work. Maybe it is missing a jump ring that attached what are now the two ends together?

Meaning this one? Maybe it broke, someone heedlessly reattached, then didn't bother anymore when it turned out to be wrong?

It's too long for a slave bracelet..

Or it was made wrong in the first place. I tried to double it up and it's too small on me. I think twisting it over uses too much of the length.

Missing bits, I'd say. And not NA.

I agree with those who say not NA.
It looks to me like part of a Middle Eastern souvenir necklace. Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, that part of the M. East.
It may not be sterling, but a lower fineness. The triangle could be an Eastern Arabic number ٨ , our 8, for .800.
You could change some of the links around and add chains to the ends, that way it would be a necklace again.:)

Silver, turquoise, twisted silver wire, and a combination of all three, are found in many parts of the world.

I’m with you AJ and the others who say not NA. Didn’t see this post but no way NA. I also live in the SW USand have never seen anything remotely like this piece attributed to NA. I too think it’s from the Arab world.

Forgot to add, the ball connector is usually used as a regular connector, or connector for bells or khamsas etc that hang from an amulet case or pendant.
In the case of the original necklace, it could have been used as the end ring where the hook clasp hooks into.
