Featured large Stone dragon pendant ?

hi folks, this was something else i bought from a bootsale at the weekend

probably not very old, but still liked it for a couple of quid

thought worth it, as its a good size

think its tiger eye

wondering what the all the holes are for ?

is it a pendant ?

any thoughts appreciated

Id guess Tigers Eye myself. That cant be a pendant,doesnt it weigh a ton ? I love it.Ha,now Bear said fastening I can see it clearly ! Now I really love it !

 

Tigerseye for sure. The drilled holes mean it's 20th century.

I thought the scuff near the back hole might mean it had another purpose

But don't know if that's genuine wear

 

If the holes are, as they look to me in the pix, 2 different diameters, suggests it is meant to be a netsuke.

 

I did wonder about a netsuke. Yes on tigers eye.

Dragon and tiger's eye, what's not to like, right?

With those holes it looks like those antique Chinese jade dress plaques, that were later mounted in Export Jewellery. They were originally sewn on clothing.
But this is a later piece and much thicker than those dress plaques. Maybe it was used for a more recent theatrical costume?
