This post may belong in Tribal...or Metalware.

This one, on a lotus? atop a plinth, has no gold plating but is decorated with inset jewels and facial paint, as well as matte blue & red coloring on her headdress and hair. She is ~7⅝" tall, ~41 oz. The embossed copper sheet beneath has been opened and crudely reattached with resin or glue. Note the 2 dogs on the front of the plinth.

This is more elaborately jeweled and carries major gold plating, and the the facial treatment is somewhat more delicate; the coloring on her hair & headdress is similarly matte, the blue being replaced with black here. She's 6" high, 24 oz. The embossed copper sheet beneath has apparently not been opened; it is staked in a few places, and doesn't fit particularly well. What should be inside there?

These are overall so similar (though many details differ) that I'm pretty sure they depict the same goddess, but perhaps from two distinct regions, and/or separated in time?

Are they deeply aged, or much more contemporary? And please tell me who she is known as. Is she, as I suspect, Buddhist, or perhaps Hindu?

    As always, thanks for lookin'!

About that color...maybe not black, but a deep/navy blue.
