    Hello!

I am going to sell this for my mom, but having a hard time finding out what it was used for. I am guessing it is either an old drafting table or printer's desk.

Has anyone seen one like this?

Does the table top slant upwards?
Even if not, it sure looks like an older art table that can be used for drafting.
I prefer a layer of green linoleum over my drafting table to draw on.

    How tall is it?

The table is 50" x 30" and 38" high. It does not slant.

Full disclosure, I'm not a furniture guy. Guess Jeweler's or watchmaker's workbench?

Those 3 areas that I've circled sure look like they have something to do with that top being able to tilt up....from the back, of course!!!! At least looks like a nice old drafting table! That little oval plaque just near the center red circle seems to say "18"... am I correct??

You know I bet you are correct about the tilting. I have a vague recollection of this from when I was a kid. I am going to check today. Yes, the brass plaque has the number 18. The ones on the drawers have a letter. A - F

If it was indeed a drafting table, maybe those protruding brackets held the nose that holds the top in place when it's tilted and has a pencil slot thingy

That would put it in the drafting/artist table realm, for sure.

I just looked for drafting tables with lettered drawers:

Any old papercrafter would love that if those drawers will hold 12x12 paper.

Well if the top didn't flip up before, it does now! There was a seam right down the middle so I started to raise it up and it was stuck which I thought had to do with age. Nope! It cracked.

I want to sell this for my mom, but no clue what I should ask. Should I fix the cracked top or just leave it?

    I appreciate all the help.

@lemontwist, I wouldn't worry anyway, it looks to me like the crack was already there!!! Look how you can see it's NOT straight where the arrow is pointing along the edge!!! You can see a little behind the arrow too.....

Does anyone know of a site where you can get help pricing things? I have a LOT! Old tools, cast iron pans, and much more.

Sure, for starters, go to https://www.ebay.com, put in your key words in the search window....you may also want to check off "sold" if you scroll down a bit in the left side, but it's a good place to start!!
