Amber colored resin figure - wooden buckets w/ rats?

    This is a piece that I picked up during the never-ending estate sale last summer but never got around to asking about it. :rolleyes::rolleyes: :bag:

    It is 2" tall to the top of the side pieces & 1" across the bottom.

    Is there some kind of story or folk tale that is associated with this piece? I tried all different combinations of keywords but struck out on eBay & Google. :confused::confused:

    I think it's a Japanese-style bucket, with rats getting at whatever is inside. I think that rats in both China and Japan can be seen as auspicious creatures.

    There are a couple of "lumps" that kind of look like possible apples. :confused::wacky::rolleyes:
