Featured Japanese lacquer-ware Locking box Signed

    I picked up this awesome box at my favorite thrift.
    8" x 7" x 3". Has a lock and no key, (my life story)
    I was thinking it was Meiji? Artists signature? Would like to hear any thoughts
    Is this what is called maki-e?

    Nice box! Wish I could read Japanese. The things you find at that thrift store are amazing. I'm assuming you don't pay much for them.

    By the way, @916Bulldogs123 , you mentioned some time ago that your dog Tonka was living with your son. Is he still there? How is he doing?
