Can anyone help me with any information/value on this chair. There are no makings but I was told 45 years ago when I bought it, that it was over 100 years old

Press-back rocker, 1900 or so. Wood appears to be ash/mixed woods. Out of favor right now. Probably had a cane or leatherette inset seat originally. Less than $100.00 most retail locations in the US. Can be picked up at auction for a lot less.

 

Useful thing though if you know anyone who's pregnant. Babies like being rocked in rocking chairs.

 

Seems like all the young mothers want gliders for that purpose nowadays.

As verybrad said, rocking chairs are a tough sell. You might achieve $50-$100, if you can even find a buyer. (At least, that's what I'd go for here in the Midwest USA.)

A little advice: next time put something more descriptive in your thread title. For instance, the title of this thread could have been "Wood Rocking Chair". Then it's more likely that the people most knowledgeable in that particular area will view your thread.
