So, I grabbed a fair old bit of silver. The brooch is HUGE, about four inches by two and a half, but has the tiniest hallmark ever.

The lavaliere. HAH. Clever bloke saw me grab the bit of Murano and the necklace. But clever bloke hadn't spotted the silver mark, had he. So it was a whole six quid for the both.

    Ring is blue John but so so small. I'll wear it on a chain, won't even fit my little finger. P1190043 small.JPG P1190044 small.JPG P1190038 small.JPG P1190084 small.JPG P1190091 small.JPG P1190092 small.JPG P1190083 small.JPG P1190090 small.JPG

    And a nice bangle.

It's a corker, isn't it. I can read I G 925, but no clue who that is. It screams 70s.

It could well be, there's some lovely artisan enamel work done by Scottish jewellers, like Sheila Fleet and Orla Gorie.

    Hm. I. Isobel? Iain?

Hmmm. No idea. I have a couple small jewelry items from Scotland that have generally similar look. Finding them in the hoard may be a problem.

    My favorite is the lavalier.

Oh, I love the lavaliere. Late 19th ish, good old paste. Needs a gentle clean.

I rather like the bracelet. Love how some "I'm a jewelry expert" types can't find the gold mark or silver marks right under their noses!

Yup! I've made a mistake or two myself, but it's much more fun the other way.

Great haul. I’d wear that ring in a heartbeat. Blue John is pretty special.
