Featured Help with faceted prism fur clip

Seeing that plastic piece on the back makes me think it was done by an artisan or a hobbyist. Whoever, it sure turned out nice. It could be a one-of-a-kind.

Just opining. Hoping more knowledgeable people have other ideas or thoughts. It might help if you can get some better focused pictures.

Found out this is pre-war Miriam Haskell!

 

Another like one was posted the the MH FB page so I asked in that thread and was told it is prewar MH

Am I the only one having a hard time believing this is an unsigned Miriam Haskell piece (pre-war or otherwise)? I don't belong to the FB group and wonder how they decided it's MH. The only similar characteristics are the pierced plastic back and clip mechanism, but those aren't unique to MH.

I looked at the Cathy Gordon link above, other online examples, and my copy of Cathy Gordon's book and can't find anything even somewhat similar. Miriam Haskell designs are typically more complex and unique.

For a piece as large and heavy as this one, I'm suspicious about the pierced plastic back being original, and wonder if someone created it from a 1950's-60's brooch.
