Old chest

    I got this chest for free. It's old, beat up, and pretty cool. I want to clean it up and use it for bedding. What's the best way to clean up the rusted metal?

    Also, please tell me it was used to store Queen Victoria's Crown Jewels and it's actually worth a fortune. ;)

    Wow, Yan, it was used to store Queen Victoria's Crown Jewels, and it's worth a fortune!:joyful:

    You could use naval jelly on the rust but some of the metal looks pretty thin and might get eaten up a bit. Might just as well remove any loose rust and paint the metal for an easier fix.

    What's the condition of the INSIDE, since that's where you want to put bedding!!?? The outside you can keep as rustic as you want or make it look as nice as you want!!:happy::happy:
