Painted Chinese tin, is it a tea caddy?

    It is only 4 1/2" tall.
    I have found other this shape with paper labels for tea.
    Maybe someone took off the label and painted it?
    On the bottom it reads PRODUCED
    IN CHINA

    It's absolutely a tea caddy, probably 30s. Original paint.
