Hello everyone - My SIL has asked me for information regarding this platter which is an old family piece. I told her I would run my opinions by my friends on the board to see if I'm in the ballpark. I apologize for the pictures. I had to take pictures of
her pictures to get them to you. If I've got this figured right the pattern name of her platter is Ribbon. My assumption is it dates to the early - mid 1800's and was sold through a store run by a Madame Temple in Regent Street London. I have been unable to find much information out about Madame Temple to verify dates but it appears more likely it was a retail establishment rather than a manufacturer. Is it Staffordshire? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
    Don

Hi Any Jewelry - that is Bear. He is the Yorkie that rules this little household. He permits me to live here as long as I continue to cater to his needs. He is a good dog, though, especially when he is asleep.

I've attached some reading about Emily Temple, aka Madame Temple. She had shops from around 1850-1870 and was a well-liked artist, businesswoman, and philanthropist. I couldn't find an example of your pattern. I think you might have about the only item with her name on it.

JB Miller, thank you so much! The article you attached transported me back to Madame Temple's shop on Regent Street and the Burgess Hill neighborhood of the mid-nineteenth century. How I wish I could have seen it in person! Hopefully more signed examples of her wares will show up one day. I am most appreciative of your efforts.
