Here's a rather crappy pic i took of an original poster My best friend & my wife bought 30 me years ago($300 cash-kids that were a hunk o dough in ancient times) for My 40th B'Day.That was a pretty pence back then ! It's real- silk-screened on pre-war cardstock with what feels to me like '1 Shot Sign Paint' or friggin' automotive enamel-this garish sh#@ aint no repop. I designed/painted signs & graphics (Wine/Beer Labels, etc) for close to 30 years.Remember, this Dwayne Esper film (1936-1946,later even ?) circulated for for several decades-so pinpointing a date is nigh on impossible-aint' life a hoot ! MARIJUANA PIC.jpg .

Not meant to give anyone any useful information, is my guess. Unlike those crates of wine grapes, with the instructions of what NOT to do on the side unless you wanted to do something illegal with them.

My HS showed that movie to the entire student body one day. Probably gave a lot of kids ideas.

I only saw bits and pieces of that movie and while I have never smoked anything, it looked silly and so over the top.

The only thing I remember about the movie was some teen getting stoned and jumping off a roof. Growing up I had a teenage uncle that lived with us and he and his "hippie" friends used to hang out in the garage . When they opened the door smoke would broil out of there like a London fog! Since everybody smoked back then we kids just thought it was cigarette smoke . The 1st time I was around weed as a teen I realized the smell was very familiar ! That poster is a riot !

I was the only 6 year old who knew who Janis Joplin and Jimmie Hendrix were ! Piece of my heart is still a favorite ! It was very interesting having a teen uncle(then a teen aunt) living with us ,my parents were so conservative . Lots of fights ! LOL !

I took a film class in HS but they never showed that one. They showed the classic movies instead.

Watch out what you wish for! Time travel works!

Lois Weber is my favorite director. She started out as a street preacher.

    (but it's actually about opium).

(almost got your wish! -- I'll tune up my time machine and point it again at this web address!).

I'm confused whether that poster is discouraging or promoting marijuana use. Orgies, parties, passion?

The measurements would be important, it looks like a one sheet so should be 28" x 41"

Promise to measure tomorrow-thanks all for the feedback. Not a phony-this thing was an independent production (think in 'Carny' terms,ie 'Nightmare Alley'),it's a sideshow piece, prob never had a strictly standard size/format-like the standard 27" X 41" one sheet movie posters of the time. This Show was a rogue /schlock exploitation 2-3 reeler.
