I have 2 sizes of clear glasses in which some still have gold with black border and inside that black border wth the words Luminarc and U.S.A. at the top of the glasses. Is Luminarc a company name or a pattern? If it is a pattern, then is Cristal D'Arques-Durand the company name? While the taller glasses are about 3" top dia. x 5 3/4" tall, the short glasses are approximately 3" top dia. x 3 3/4" tall. Are the taller glasses called high balls and are the shorter glasses called whiskey? Thank you for the help with this request. Rob

Luminarc is a brand also. I reckon you could call them highballs and Old Fashioned/On The Rocks or Neat glasses

Luminarc is a brand of the Arc Group, a French company that manufactures everyday glassware. Cristal d’Arques is another of their brands. You can learn more about them here.

I think I saw them listed as highballs on replacements website and saw shorter ones listed on ebay as whiskey that is why I was asking about the taller glasses. Rob

In my research on ebay I would see Cristal d'Arques Luminarc and vice versa along with pattern names. So, I still need to figure out the pattern for these glasses. I have a hypotheses of the pattern I just have to prove it is right by finding this pattern I think they are. Thank you. Rob

On French eBay, I see those identified as pastis and whisky glasses. Très French, non?

And here in the US they are mostly just referred to as tumblers! (Sigh)

The large tumblers would be good for soda IMHO.

Luminarc is low end mass market, Cristal d'Arques higher end marketing.

In my research, that is 1 of 3 patterns that I was going to investigate. So, that does make alot of sense to me as pattern. I wish I could read what it lists on that box in the lower corner as to what they called those 6 tumblers. I will still try to find those as well as the taller glasses on replacements.com as well. Thank you for verifying this for me. Rob

The group company name is Durand, the range is Luminarc.

According to what I read on wikipedia, I thought Argo was the company and Luminarc is one of their brands as well as Cristal D'Arques-Durand. Thank you for straightening me out on this. Rob
