While washing the carpet, the red root dye flows heavily. But in no way does the color interfere with the patterns. It is very heavy when wet. It is quite difficult to carry.

    A hand woven carpet

    6 meters

My grandfather bought this carpet for a car 70 years ago.
But I dont know when made it

I couldn't find any date textures or writing on the back.

Okay. If you can't resize down to 1MB (the limit for media weight on this forum) upload to the Gallery and then "embed" each file in your post with the use of the little camera icon in the toolbar.

@Oguz Yasin Bas, Hi and WELCOME to ANTIQUERS!! @Bakersgma has one easy answer for you, but here's another solution to choose from, keeping in mind, as Bakers said....each image MUST be under 1 MB.....
IF on a cell phone, try emailing them to yourself as "medium" size, they should then be under 1 MB!

Each image MUST be UNDER 1 MB....
There are instructions on site here on how to reduce the size of your image, if that is the problem......you are allowed up to 8 images per post!!! Here are some links to the instructions:

    If on the computer:

    If on an iPhone:

And if on an Android phone:

Don't hesitate to ask questions!! We're here to HELP!!!:happy::happy::happy:

NICE job and WELL DONE!!!!!!!!!!!! 70 years might be a LONG time to hope a label or tag would still be on a carpet......maybe if you take REALLY GOOD close-up images of the Front AND Back, along with length and width, and take them to an Oriental Carpet house, they can help you with dating it along with an estimate! Don't forget to give them the history with your information!! Others might be along to help you more specifically than I can!! Best of luck!!

Six meters long is a huge carpet. Bought for a car???

All we can see in these pics is the outside edges at a few places. If you want to identify the design, you need to unroll it and take a pic of the overall design. Until then, we only know it is some type of Persian floral design. Probably not older than about 70 years, I would have guessed a bit newer than that. History of design if different than where it was made. Could have been made in Persia but more likely India, Pakistan, etc. Not a good sign that the dyes leach out in cold water; older and high quality carpets should not.

Good question komokwa- where was it bought?

I really dont know, but I guess its coming from Turkey. Name is Isparta Carpet.

    I found this info:

"Isparta carpet business has an old history. There is an old commercial weaving tradition in Isparta and its surroundings, which has hosted a very important Turkmen population since the 12th century, by weaving famous Turkmen carpets and exporting them to neighboring countries."

    I see you found it.:)
From what I gathered most of the carpet makers used to be Greek-Turkish, rather than Turkmen. That floral design isn't very Turkmen, but it is Turkish and Greek. Those roses are the symbol of Isparta, btw.

Here is some more info on Isparta (Sparta) carpets:

Six metres, maybe made for a mosque?

From your name I guess that you are Turkish yourself. There are many books in Turkish about Turkish culture, so I guess there are probably Turkish books on Isparta carpets, or Turkish carpets in general. Look for second hand books.;)

I have no idea of the value. Isparta carpets don't seem to be high end, but six metres is special of course. I don't know how that influences any value.
If it is 6x6 metres it could be difficult to find a buyer.

Doesn't look overly desirable or valuable, but maybe it's all the rage in Turkey, so value will, as always, depend on where.
