Not tribal. Looks like Indian costume, made for the Western market.
Tribal jewellery is usually connected with investment, to be sold when times are tough. So heavy silver, that kind of thing.

If you list the necklace, you can include the term 'boho'.

Thank you. Any idea what that big stone is?

If it has a (slight) cat's eye effect, tiger stone. Otherwise possibly some kind of jasper.

Went out in the heat today. The ReStore was closed for whatever reason, but I scored big enough to use the 5% off $20 discount in the Ill Will. First time in forever. Found a big painted gourd for $2. A print of modern electric guitars, signed Jan Art and numbered. $5 (it's headed straight to my church's worship team, home to many a guitar head) Coffee mugs from McDonald's, Rainforest Cafe and Krispy Kreme and a big hunk of enameled metal Mackenzie Childs. Also $5 .

    This one: https://www.etsy.com/listing/102765...RRLEJXQHhQHpaX7FKl5lkbSHl7DJrLHxoCsKEQAvD_BwE

Then went to another store and got a Water Pik, NIB for $2 (needed one anyway if I can find space to sit the base in my bitty bathroom) and 14k earrings of no great decorative value for also $2. Just about got cooked in the process - the A/C was off.

On the way home a friend had texted me. They were starting to clear out her late in-laws' house and the Mom had been a TV shopping addict. Told her what to do with all the Fenton and the (eek) Hummels. I ended up with four pair of shoes. Three are way too wide/painful for me so I'll give them away locally. The fourth is a score. Two of the three that didn't work are German and at least one is a legit pair of Birkies. With daisies. Darnitt. Came home and drank even more water.

Wow on that MacKenzie Childs! You are braver than I am going out today....it just about killed me to hang sheets on the line.

Not brave, just stubborn. Put it into my cart just ahead of a local rival coming in to hunt the same store. Tomorrow is going to be even worse.

I may go out Friday....I got my old black cashmere coats, 3, plus some others, together for the consignment shop. I also have a larger-size black seal fur stole, pristine, for her. I don't like to deal in furs, but I couldn't pass this up. I have to get vintage hats together next, then purses. I have another alligator bag that has to go, too. In my case, it's not stubborn, it's boredom.

Went out there today too but was home by 12:30PM. It's 34C now according to my computer. Supposed to hit 36 by the end of the day. Meanwhile my crazy mother is out getting a haircut.

There is a sale near me tomorrow. Am I nutz enough to go to it in this heat? Dunno, I will see how motivated I am tomorrow morning.

I love summer but not sizzling like this.

M-C stuff gold to collectors. Good for you Ruth. If I find any, I only buy the one with the black check since that is the most popular. Honestly, I don't see why it is so popular but to each her own.

I don't get it either; it's not nearly good enough quality for the prices, and not attractive enough either. Then again look at beanie babies! At least the plates and such aren't totally useless.

Not the time of year to use it, but for free it's for me!

Some past weeks' goodies. Finally got around to uploading the images and resizing. Someone asked for a photo of the glove ring I found, so I also took one of the things I found it with. The other bits were from a later antiques/jewelry store run. No idea what the blue necklace is, either glass or coated stone, but it's pretty. There are a few gold bits, some silver. The tennis bracelet is sterling and rock crystal from this weekend. The cowboy bracelet is silver although it wasn't marked. The clear one is glass in dire need of a restring. It's on that clear nylon line that breaks when you look at it cross-eyed.

The glove ring is on my thumb, btw. It has to be a size 11 or better.

    Are the red ones garnet?
I, on impulse, ordered a ruby zoisite? necklace, Jay King mine finds, on clearance. I have to say, the faceted stones were beaten and perfectly symmetrically matched, but they were strung on that cheap plastic wire. Come on! They went back.

I haven't bothered testing yet; they could be garnet, glass or a mix. The Czechs did that early and often.

The blue ones look like coated quartz crystals.

I still need to check them. Just tested the ring - straight up glass.

I couldn't put off major grocery shopping anymore, so I made a deal with myself that if I went grocery shopping, I could visit a thrift shop first. One of their specials was 1/2 price on silverplate, and if it's cheap enough, I pick it up. I got 12 pieces each of this Holmes and Edwards Century set plus serving pieces. 20220722_172644.jpg

I got a few pieces, six forks, seven spoons, of Roger Bros Poppy. I love this pattern!

I spent $21. You never ever find the forks anymore because crafters make bracelets and other jewelry out of them.

Had a lovely day shopping at a local fete. Each item cost £2 so I spent quite a bit when you add it up but got some nice bits. First picture is of the silver items. My favourites are the Chinese shard pendants and the blue John.

The Danish bracelet is silverplated, the bangle I think is aluminium. The tiny white enamel brooch is from the Womens Temperance Society.

Then I sort of had a mad moment and bought this chunktastic monster. I don’t know anyone who would wear it. A Lladro figurine and old slide rule.
