    Hi everyone,

A few years ago, I bought an Elsie Ward Hering piece in silver metal. Since then I’ve been looking for a similar one in gold-plated metal. I found one a few days ago, but I have doubts about its originality.

Under the base there is the inscription “FRANCE”, but on the silver one I bought a few years ago there is no inscription on the base. In other similar figures I have seen on the internet, there is no such inscription.

I also noticed that the face is a bit different.

In short, I suspect it’s a piece from the ’70s.

I would appreciate any comments on that.

    Best wishes!

Looks old to me. How do the sizes compare?

In the attached files the photo on the left is of a piece auctioned at Bonhams, and the photo on the right is of the piece I have doubts about its origin and dating. The sizes are identical.

    Thanks!

Great pics for comparison, and an interesting question indeed!
