Featured 1920s Antique lighting

Hi all, I'm looking at a house and the owner tells me this light fixture is a 1920s Antique she had installed. She is an older lady and I believe it is antique but was wondering if anyone had more information or insight they could offer.

Does this apppear to be a 1920s Antique Light? Would it be considered a Chandelier? And just a ballpark monetary worth if it is antique.

Often called a plafonnier or an electrolier by some.

 

1890s to 1930s, for sure, and very nice. Price will depend on may factors, such as state and details which would require closer inspection, plus where and how you intend to sell it, but I very much doubt it can in any way offset the price of any house you might be looking at!

 

I know I'm bumping this thread, but it appears the mount needs to be adjusted. Wouldn't want that light to fall down.

 

I think that 1920's is a good for the dating. I note that there is a dangle missing but that should be an easy replacement. The shade is painted on the inside and should be treated with care when cleaning. Did she have it rewired? If not, it should be if the wires are old and the covering cracking. Worth varies upon the market. Keep an eye on ebay for a realistic value. Check the "sold" prices, not the "buy it now" prices. Many sites have un-realist values.
