Unique pendants, please help identify the stone! Does Ruby glow orange in UV light?

Hi,
I have few pendants I like very much and would like to ask for your opinion.
1. The first one looks like Ruby, is quite big, when looked at with a UV light, it glows yellow / orange. Is it possible that is a real Ruby, or is there another stone that glows like that?
2. Is a locket / pendant, fascinating colour display, the metal is probably pinchbeck. It is faceted, and the way it catches the light I can’t even explain. I have seen Quartz, but this look different.
3. This is a pendant I bought as French jet, but when there is light coming from the other side, it lights dark red, maroon like.
I appreciate your take on these.

The only way to know for sure if #1 is ruby is to have it tested! No one can tell from a photo.

 

A lot of people can tell if it's a ruby/sapphire if it was a good photo.

 

The black one is Czech "black amethyst" glass. The one set in sterling may well be what I call a "grade z" ruby. I don't recognize what's in the locket.

 

The stone in the first pendant might be rhodonite. Photos really do not give much to go on. What does the front look like in ordinary light?

The locket appears to be a fancy bit of glass making.

Not sure what to say about the third piece other than that there are things in the world that look black until seen under strong light. Maybe 'French jet' is one of them. I don't have any around to test.

2. I am sure it’s not glass, it’s a stone, feels heavy and I read here to test it with a diamond tester, which I did, and it goes up one line, glass does not react on my diamond tester. In first look I would say it’s Quartz, but then the colour display of green and red, it’s quite something.
Please let me know your thoughts.

 

Found this raw Ruby, looks like it does have some yellow and orange in it’s natural form.

 

The mineral corundum occurs in a variety of colors. If it is red, we call it ruby. Any other color is considered sapphire. Any sapphire that is not blue is a 'fancy' sapphire. Yellow sapphire is pretty common.

 

Not a ruby, rubies don't fluoresce yellow / orange.

That is the way it looks in normal light, not in UV light.

No, it doesn't. According to what you said before it fluoresces yellow / orange.

Ceylon yellow sapphires do, but they are as yellow as it gets.

It is an unusual locket, but I have no idea.

What is happening in the upper right of the stone in this one? Is is a facet, or a chip? Or something else?

 

It is faceted stone, not all faceted sides are equal or the same.

Yes, I also think is glass…never seen a black glass light in red, that’s new for me.

Black Czech/Bohemian glass is French jet. French jet is a first class misnomer, not French and not jet, but Bohemian black glass.

 

Yeppers. I thought it was amethyst black glass at first, but it's just the weird red light behind the first image.
