Chinese? Cast Metal Bell

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me anything about this cast bell. I think its Chinese but maybe Japanese?

I must confess, I am much more interested in that Balinese beauty in the background. A quality carving, 1930s-40s, a stunner.

 

In my ignorance, I think Chinese on the cast bell...mainly because the Japanese have a reverence for the odd number, and there are 4 holes in the top and 8 fingers at the rim. The translation will tell the story...

I've been wrong before, 'tho...I remember back in the 60's...

He created huge number of carvings by the looks of it. I guess there must have been a team or maybe there are copies.
