    That's an interesting question.

My wife and I are now officially retired so I guess that makes me a free bird.

I have been self-employed out of necessity since I was twenty something and actually like to work. (lack of education and the limitations that puts on upward mobility forced me to create my own job) I met my wife on a trip to DC. She was up for local .gov business and I was up to meet with some members of congress over some industry specific legislation. I was smitten inside of an hour and told her then "I am going to marry you". I am shocked she gave me her phone number all things considered...lol...

I moved from FL to NC 12 years ago to make it official. I had enough of customers and huge tax bills and closed my business and "retired" for two years. My wife got tired of coming home from her .gov job and seeing me in my "dressing gown" playing video games....I inherited 3 teenage boys.... and told me I needed to find something to do......she said this during the middle of an episode of "Storage Wars" and said, that looks fun, why don't you go do something like that..... and so I did, and then I moved over to picking which is a lot more fun.

Wife officially retired last year and we purchased a place in the mountains with some land. I've been working the property for the most part and only get to do picking every now and again.

So, I am semi-retired, when I am working it is a full-time job because i really like what I do, but the IRS considers it a hobby business, which is basically what it is. Every sale kind of just funds my habit. Wifey pooh calls me a hoarder, I just happen to hoard "small trinkets" for the most part that don't take up much room...lol
