I’m not sure if creating a thread is the proper thing to do as I am new to this site so please forgive me if this is incorrect. I posted previously given a description of furniture that I recently inherited from my family. I was unable to find any markings anywhere on the furniture after inspecting it today thoroughly. I was however able to take much better pictures in hopes that they may provide some clue that would help me better identify the set.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

The pegs on the sides of the drawers are interesing. I don't know much about furniture but maybe this will help somebody else to verify dates.

Can not provide anything further than was provided in the original thread. Doesn't really matter who made this. Could have been made by any one of the hundreds (thousands?) of furniture makers at the time.

I understand completely. How do you place a value on items like this?

What type of value? Insurance>Retail>resell.... Also depends on where and how selling (if selling). Values are higher in big cities than in small towns. Value in a shop will be generally be higher than at auction, an outdoor market, or on-line.

Can provide a rough resell value based on my semi-rural Midwest location. Also keep in mind that the following values reflect the less than ideal finish currently seen on these. Unfortunately, most people do not want antique beds, so they do not bring much. Yours is extra nice so maybe $100-150.00 to the right person. The wardrobe, maybe in the $200-300.00 range. The dresser $100.00 or so. This is if you can find someone who wants them at all and values may be a tad optimistic.

As you can see, not a lot of value these days. They used to bring quite a bit more but are out of fashion right now. They all need finish work and most people do not want to do this kind of work. They would be good candidates for paint but would hate to see them succumb to that fate. They are nice examples of late Victorian furniture and may see values rise in the future some time if not painted.
