Featured Carved War Horse

    Hello All,
    I wondered if anyone could provide some info about this horse? Carved from 1 block of wood, 12.5” nose to tail, 12.5” base to ear, weighs close to 3 kg. No marks that I can see.

    Looks SE Asian, possibly Indonesian.
    What makes you think it is a war horse?

    I guess my impression is war horse because of the fierce in-motion movement and open mouth. Also, this is no graceful fleet racehorse - he is built! ( -:

    Hes lovely . Knee jerk is more newish ,but not brand new.

    Not an Arabian horse or derived from Arabian strain.;) Just a regular small Asian horse, the way you see them in Indonesia. 'Native' European horses are an even sturdier build.

    Yes, I wondered if it might be ironwood because he is sooo heavy and dense. Thank you all for weighing in on this. Appreciate it.
