Could you help with dates and origin of a silver pin and cameo necklace?

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

The clasp definitely looks like a replacement. The clasp is attached off center, as you mentioned. That may be an indication that the chain was originally longer and some of it is missing.

Owned, the cameo itself on yours is different but those filigree parts are the same. Interesting. I think they are really lovely parts on these pieces. I like your bracelet a lot, especially the pearl accents.

Fig, I knew the clasp was wrong but hadn't thought about the length of the chain issue. I am going to re-position the clasp and possibly replace it with a barrel clasp which seems more suitable.

I knew I had another one! The setting is quite different, but the cameos are the same kind of rather crude carving.

Even if the carving is crude, the second bracelet looks older than the first one you showed and the necklace I have. Thanks for sharing.

Agreed: I suspect my second one is early 20th maybe and the first, like yours is 30s or so.

I"m wondering if the OPs isn't missing an .800 mark, gone when the clasp went. The bracelet that matches has one, making it probably Italian gold-washed lower grade export silver.

I that noticed Owned's had the 800 mark on the clasp. We'll never know if it is missing on the one I have unless I can turn up an exact match through research.

Scratch test the rest of the necklace? Any decent We Buy Gold place can do it. All they need is a testing stone and some 18k acid. Silver on the stone "curdles", and the slower it "comes up" the lower the silver content.

I have a testing kit but have been afraid to use as I worry I will ruin a piece. Iguess now might be the time to try.

It's not hard. Just test on the STONE and not the object.
