Featured Pls Help w/ Silver Circus Poodle/Car Mascot or other ?

    Poodl1.jpg Poodl2.jpg Poodl3.jpg Here's a little (3 1/2" high) silver-plate Circus Poodle.He's sitting on an ebonized wood plinth-total height 5 3/4". The only mark I found is pictured. Thanks for the help.Hood Ornament,or other ? View attachment 391687 View attachment 391692

    Thanks Cheryl-First time I've ever heard the word 'Bibelot'.Thanks for the link to WMF Marks,'I/O=Normal thickness Plating.Wish I could read that little shield mark better.

    Cleaning it up and a better focused image would help (there's likely a square on point and an ostrich) - the little dogs usually sell pretty well, can't recall seeing this one before...

    Good ideas Cheryl-My Wife's phone's camera lots better than mine,gotta get a sharp closeup up that mark.

    Agree probably WMF, also wondering if it could had been a car radiator mascot given the size and form.

    I thought Car Mascot when I first saw it-haven't found documentation yet-auto or not.

    Closest thing I've seen too Roaring,good catch ! Well heck-obviously they didn't just make one of these Pooches-it'd be made out of platinum or gold.

    Had to look up bibelot. New word to add to my vocabulary . Can't wait to use it when my sister and i go thrifting!

    Blame my late Mom for my use of 'bibelot' - she was a compulsive reader and always kept a huge dictionary to look up any word she didn't know and they often found their way into her everyday conversation, passing that along to all three of her children (made for some interesting family Scrabble and Boggle). Word games are still a must for me, one of many ways I use keep my mind active - was 24/7 caregiver and watching Mom deteriorate from Alzheimer's scared me...

    Sorry about Mom & Alzheimers.I've known enough friends and business associates who had to care give parents and spouses to know it is a sad and very heavy lift (God-after years of a good marriage !).
