Can anyone ID country of origin for this necklace?

    My first thought on this sterling and onyx beaded necklace was Mexico and a quick search found some similar items on eBay that sellers have identified as Mexican. Some of the pieces marked clasps. My necklace has no clasp, is about 28" long and weighs 106 grams. It's heavy.

    I haven't found a piece withe the oblong silver beads with coiled centers. Maybe I'm not using the correct search term.

    Definitely Mexican. I have a Los Ballasteros bracelet made of those coiled beads in different designs. Without a clasp and some marks it's hard to guess how old this is.
