kutani vase any way to date this?

    pretty sure that's a Kutani mark, but is there any way to know more about this 14" vase?

    I've not seen this before, but there is something up with it. It does say Kutani on the base, but it looks like it is made of pottery - Kutani is always porcelain. It also has the Shimazu crest on the body, the symbol for Satsuma pottery made in the Kagoshima region, which certainly isn't Kutani. So, I think it must be some sort of reproduction or an outside chance it is some crazy mixed up item from post war Japan when they were recovering from WW2.

    yeah I saw the crest too. And the style is Satsuma, yes? The style also seems modern.
