Hello Board Friends - I am asking for help with the mark on this blue and white (flow blue?) plate. It looks to me like B&VF. I haven't been able to find a similar mark but I don't think it's the first time I've come across it. Some years back I had a novelty plate that I think might have had the same mark. It was one of a series of somethin like sixteen plates with transfers of a young woman as she moves through the phases of her courtship. I can't seem to find my notes regarding that plate but it may be an importer's mark rather than a manufacturer's mark. This plate measures about 9 3/4" across. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
    Don

I don't know but in looking around a bit I found what seems to be the same pattern plate (different building) with the crown and Wheelock instead of the initials. I'm not sure that the Wheelock I'm reading about is the same one but they were a big store that had manufacturing contracts in England and elsewhere.

Anyway, long way to get around to saying that I wonder if the initials might have been something other than the maker, such as a retailer.

    Here they are:

The crown shape is the most significant thing. I'll see if it's in Godden.

Just wanted to thank everyone for their assistance with this plate! It is very much appreciated. I'm going to assume the mark is for an unknown distributor.
