Small brass, maybe, embossed tray

    Howdy all!
    I found this little tray at a thrift store. It just caught my eye and figured you all would have the answer to what it is and maybe how old.
    It measures 6.75" x 5"
    Any help would be great,

    Pretty, and Persian (Iranian).
    If it is as red as it looks in the photos, it is copper. If it is yellow, it is brass.

    Agree with AJ. They are difficult to date, but could be anywhere between 1920's and 1970's. If it is thick and heavy that usually indicates earlier, and if they are lighter it is generally more recent.
