I have inherited a Chinese tea bowl, measuring 6.5cm in diameter x 3.5cm in height.

Initial research indicates Qianlong period or 'style of' Qianlong. I'd be interested in members' opinions as to date.

Any ideas on what the central pictogram means, and pattern (flowers - jasmine or lotus?)

Can't put my finger on it right now but I have read some research about this style of mark being from around 1870, so a reproduction and an antique at the same time. If I can dig it out will post here for you.

Above the central symbol is a stylised bat. Here’s 5 on this bowl. Supposed to be lucky.

Looks like a lotus bud below the central symbol.

I’ve discovered the central pictogram is the Chinese ‘shou’ character meaning longevity.
