    Hello all!

A recent rescue from a melt pile - a slight bend to the ring and a break at one of the connection points (I bent it back, but is it fixable?) had been enough to condemn it to destruction!

The ring tests as 18K, but is wholly unmarked. I may be quite off, but the design seems quite old, victorian if not earlier?

Thoughts, comments and suggestions are most welcome!

    LRC

The collet prong work around the ruby makes me think this piece is from the late Georgian period.
A competent jeweler can fix it.
Keep it! Repair it, and wear it!
    It's a real treasure!

I was a bit worried there might be damage to the pearls if I tried to have it repaired. Am I worrying for nothing?

Find a jeweler with a laser welder, then the pearls would not have to be removed for the repair.

Hopefully you can find a jeweler near you who is comfortable with antique jewelry repair.
It is an easy fix. They might recommend sending it off to an expert. It would be worth the effort.
    Good luck! It's a beauty!

So pretty. Great save. It’s heartbreaking to think of all the irreplaceable treasures that have been melted down.

A coin store which buys gold and silver "on the side"... Ugh, I know.
Fortunately I do get first dibs!
To the competent jeweller she goes - I wonder if they'd be able to source a replacement for the one broken pearl.

It would have to be a natural pearl of the same colour and lustre, otherwise it would stand out.
If it doesn't bother you, I'd leave it be. It is small, and at least it is the same colour as the others.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

So beautiful -- I hope you can find a jeweler to repair it.

A lot of people! Some don't care that it's old, in fact, it's because it's old they want the stones reset in to something modern and scrap the metal
