Royal Doulton Bulldog

Afternoon
I have I believe a vintage Royal Doulton Bulldog figure.
Can anyone tell me anymore about it?
Any help is appreciated and is it worth anything as kept on desk.

Just search Royal Doulton along with the number on the bottom and you will find plenty of examples.

 

It's certainly got value if undamaged. That's an early version, from the backstamp and Rd number. End of WW1.

Yes i have googled it but wasn't sure on the stamp as ones online had made in england around the Royal Doulton stamp,

You can always search the registry number, and maybe even find it--1915 is when the design was first registered, but the dawg could have been made later. http://www.phoenixmasonry.org/masonicmuseum/Dating_English_Registry_Marks.htm

 

The figurine was still in production as of 2020. Check the marks of the pieces online (some sites will show them, some won't). If some say made in England and others don't, I would guess that the ones that don't say so were made elsewhere. I don't know that Royal Doulton has any English production these days. They do have a large facility in Indonesia.

 

That's an early backstamp. Made in England wasn't added till 1930 ish. That mark says England, so it's post 1902 which is when the lion on a crown mark had that added to it.

Modern ones don't show registry numbers, either.

As an aside, not everything got marked Made in England. Domestic consumption stuff.

A modern one, made elsewhere, would by much more recent law have to show country of origin.
