Featured German Silver Kiddush Cup dated 1837

I am cataloguing a nice silver kiddush cup dated December 25 1837. Around the foot inscribed in German loosely translated 'In Memory of' and on the base of the foot, a bunch of names. Does anyone recognize the hallmark or name in the oval that starts with SCH? Thank you for looking!

To clarify... The cup carries the date 1837. It is not dated 1837.

Odd that a Kiddush cup carries the date of Christmas. Can you transcribe the engraved words for us? It's not possible to read them from the photographs.

I have kiddush cups......they all have their owners names...

 

Yes, I see "Stade." I also see "Gleichen" to its lower left.

engraved around the foot "fur erinnerung an" translating to 'for memory of' and then many names including Kirchhoff, Muller, Grause, Dommes, Newburg. Heavy script - some is difficult to decipher.

 

With all those names, it makes you wonder. If that thing could talk, it would tell a few tales. It probably left Germany when the family emigrated, thankfully well ahead of WWII. A lot of Jewish silver was confiscated and melted leading up to the War.

 

I see what appears to be "Peterkin v." What comes after that?

not seeing Peterkin V, there are about 8 or 9 names. I'll try to post better pictures when I get them back from photography.

I believe that is Blohm.
Here is what I another silver group said "The mark on the right is a key in an oval (Stade guild).
The cup does not meet the definition of Kiddush cup; there is nothing to indicate Jewish provenance.
More likely Christmas gift.
The maker was recorded by Clasen: Stader Silber"
