The coinage of Chios features such a sphinx. The man's head seems not to be what was on the other side.

I recognized the name because it is very similar to a company that produced some of the most wonderful Czech perfume bottles such as the black one on the right.:happy:

Went out yesterday, early, it was soooo hot again. Flea market had half the normal amount of vendors, jewelry sharks beat me to some good stuff. There are three on a regular basis I see, only two yesterday. The one guy is an "expert" and the regulars hold a lot of things for him to look at and buy. He told this lady a pair of costume earrings were sterling, they weren't, so I said to her "he would have bought them if they were sterling." He left some decent costume, though.
    $1 each

This is an earlier basic doll. The subsequent dolls were stunning, used various face molds. I had a huge collection, sold it for a huge profit. People customize them, too. I will post some pics in a bit of dolls I owned.

There are so many more....I used to buy a few of the limited editions, hold them, then sell them. If you ever see a Tonner doll at a reasonable price, buy it!!!

Pearls, I own one customized Tonner doll, Stella face mold. She was redone as a vampire. She pretty much has tripled in value.
