Help needed to identify gold hallmark?

Google has failed me with trying to identify this hallmark so I'm looking for some much needed input.

I know the ring is 9ct gold from the 375 hallmark, however I cannot make out the 2 hallmarks after it. Every assay or date mark I look up doesn't seem to match.

Any help would be much appreciated, thank you in advance!

FYI: The ring was bought from an auction house in Belfast, UK.

 

Hi, the hallmark itself was tarnished and unreadable. I had to edit it and lighten it to make out the 375, so unfortunately this is the best I can get. I can see what looks like a flame in the hallmark after the 375 but no hallmarks I’ve researched have matched.

@daveydempsey's advice to photograph the ring on a flat surface is excellent. That way it is perfectly still, which it never is when you're holding it.

DIA means it is set with diamond(s). Other than that the marks are too blurry for me, but one of them looks like it could be a London import mark.

Just reread and realize that this was bought in Belfast. I was thinking that the right-most marks looked Irish.

 

Belfast is Northern Ireland, so UK. The ring could have Irish marks, but I don't see a harp mark, which in modern marks is almost a V shape.
In 1972 Ireland joined the International Hallmarking Convention. I don't see the Convention mark, which is scales with the fineness. So if it is Irish, it would have to date from before 1972.
The UK joined in 1976.

Seeing the entire ring would also help.

Very blurry, but my best guess is a Sheffield or London import mark for 1998. Hallmarks are often full of crud too (dead skin etc), taking a cotton bud to it with some hot water and dish soap may help.

 

Not my finest work, but I'd say London import mark. To the right of it an S sideways? Looks like the 1973 S.

 

I'd gone with the curly 'y' for 1998, it can look squished like this sometimes. Sideways marks not unheard of though, does happen sometimes.

 

Squishy y is possible. Not sure about the angle though, the 1998 y is in italics.

Hi everyone, thank you all for your input and feedback! The ring has been cleaned with warm water and dish soap, unfortunately the hallmark is still tarnished. I managed to take multiple photos with several different lights that are hopefully helpful, as well as a photo of the actual ring. From what I can tell the last hallmark looks like a lowercase "v".

 

So it does, the 1995 v imo.

 

Agree, London 1995. That is a little bit later than usual for this style, it is getting popular again today. I recognise the makers mark too, but can't seem to recall it.

I guess the center stone is a sapphire?

 

I would also have thought a bit earlier, when Lady Di rings were popular.
Along with the import mark, the year mark is of the year it was imported. Usually it would have been made in the same year, but that is not a given.

Yes, usually the import marks are pretty consistent with the manufacture. I have had this design from the 70's as well, but not common. Here's a German example we sold last week, not dated, 14k, dia and sapphire.
