Teapot?

  1. Hello all! I came across this teapot today, or at least I think that's what it may be. I was hoping someone might recognize it. Thank you in advance for any suggestions you might have!

Looks like an artisan potter made it and it cracked when it was being fired.

Asked an artisan potter, and (no surprise) he agreed with you:
“Yes you see in the upper right how the crack is soft and the glaze melted along the crack? That means the glaze was fluid when the piece cracked. If it was a sharp crack it could have been during cooling after the glaze had solidified or it could be damage after the fact.” 4747BA2D-0FD5-4A65-9FDC-BA93E253A981.jpeg

Follow up after seeing more pictures:
“I’d like to see the underside of the feet, but a wild ass guess is stoneware salt fired in the late fifties to early seventies. It’s either poorly made or a sculpture around the idea of a teapot. The bugle spout would make pouring tea difficult. The swoops handle is nice and reflecting 50-60s aesthetics but not ideal for controlling the pour.”
