If you saw my post under general, this was one piece that was given to me at a garage sale. I initially passed on it because of what seems to be a bit of a flaw (?). In the end the kind seller gave it to me "for a Mother's Day gift" as I purchased some other items and he just added this in for free, which was really amazing. Now curious what I have.

I know Loetz is copied, what do you think? It seems to have pretty nice quality in the hand, but I didn't know if that extra blob of glass was something that would have made it out of the factory.

    Here are some photos:

There is some wear to the coating inside, a bit more than photo shows:

Here is my main question. See this extra spot/blob of glass in photo below. Would you see that on a Loetz piece? Somehow made during creation, but what do I call that? Does that suggest it maybe isn't Loetz? Just curious what I have.

The seller also texted this info about a similar piece after I left:

The CW one sure looks similar, but I noted that the signature on that one says "Czecho-slovakia" and mine instead says, "Loetz".

    Thoughts? Thanks! :)

Awesome Kronos, and Marie. Off to do some checking.

Meanwhile, what about that blob of glass on the side? Is that something that conceivably could have been sold like that if it is Loetz? I have to say the coating and feel of the glass is pretty nice, but I'm suspicious about that glob of extra glass.

Keep the thoughts coming. I'm off the check out these links. Thank you! :)

The lack of wear would concern me,but not enough not to grab it. Very pretty !

Here's mine to compare. Angle is slightly different, but had this photo already on the computer.

(Feet are clear glass, they are just picking up the pattern of the surface.)

I just don't know enough about these -- only that Loetz is copied. It seems like a lot of work to go to to copy this though. Not like value is that high for the real deal. Curious what we will find out!

There is a fair amount of wear inside the bowl. Some scratching to the coating inside. It was free so it was a total no-brainer to grab it! Fun learning about these.

I don't think a copy either but I think the signature has been added to it. The Loetz folks on FB will be able to help:) Nice piece at a super price:)
