Antique Bennington

Hello. I think this might be antique Bennington but I'm not sure. There is a handwritten estate sticker on the bottom that says Ben BK

any info would be appreciated. Thank you

I was very surprised to see a few similarly decorated items in a Bennington book I have. Those are all described as "very" or "extremely" rare. (The book is A Color Guide to Bennington Pottery by Richard Carter Barrett.) One of the blue and white vases is also shown in the cover illustration among other examples of Bennington wares.

 

Unfortunately the book has no information about markings. Would you be so kind as to post a picture or 2 of the marks on your pieces? So much of Bennington is not marked.

 

Yes they call it Bennington Parian Ware. Blue and white, very intricate.

I had to research some of this a decade or so ago, so been there done that, LOL.
EDIT: PS, I seem to remember there is another maker of very similar Parianware, so you have to be careful with your ID. Due diligence.

The book I have calls them porcelain, not parian, but parian seems to be more appropriate.

 

They're Parian sprigged wares. That blue ground was used by British makers as well.
