    Hi everyone,

I've come across some amazing items, that I hope will be of interest and, fingers crossed, someone will know a hell of a lot more than I do (which is terribly basic) Screenshot_20220508-162016_Chrome.jpg Screenshot_20220508-161953_Chrome.jpg Screenshot_20220508-162125_Chrome.jpg Screenshot_20220508-162144_Chrome.jpg about the items.
The first one is a hand painted wooden carving, it stands 51cm tall and is believed to be of Indonesian origin.

I would greatly appreciate more info, especially why the hunch forward? Do you think it's authentic?

Thanks in advance as always :)

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

WOW!! THAT figure has Scoliosis, for sure, from the profile shot!!:joyful::D!!! But truthfully, I know little to zip about these figures other than they ARE interesting and there are members here who DO know a LOT more than I, FORTUNATELY!!!:singing::singing::singing: (The carving is interesting, and to my eye, she looks like she has some age...)

Yes, I believe 'Any Jewelry' was a great help, very knowledgeable, regarding the bronze figure I posted a while ago.
    Fingers crossed

:joyful::joyful::joyful: It is an odd pose, I wonder if it's some sort of dance pose? Also quite odd, why the highlighted dot at the back?
I too think she's quite old.

She is Dewi Sri, rice Goddess and main Goddess of Java and Bali. She was made in Bali, my guess mid-20th. Similar ones were made for local use, so she is traditional. But they were also carved to be sold.
I have no idea why her back is curved like that, I've never seen it before.
That is part of the design of her sarong. Her dance apron covers the front of the sarong, which is why you don't see the sun symbol on the front.
Scoliosis is a sideways spinal curvature.;) Maybe Bechterew's?
