    Hi guys,

Has anybody seen vases like this before. It has the art nouveau elements going for it which match with the glaze.

But do any of you think it could be old? Or is it a newer designer piece?

    Thanks for any help!

It has an old look to me, but I have no idea who. Metal additions like that are called "mounts".

It's very beautiful. I think it has some age. The glaze is nice.

Yeah nice, I'd think old too

    I'd call the glaze mottled

I'm wondering, is the picture of the bottom of the vase showing metal covering the base of the pottery, or are we actually looking at the clay?
I'm sorry if this seems like a stupid question but the picture only gets blurrier when I enlarge it and I can't tell if I'm looking at metal or baked clay.

@Nathan Lindop, That has SUCH a familiar look to me, the more I see it......that's just NOT popping into my head!!! Does this look like it might be signed where I brightened it a bit??? Looks like there might be a star just left of what looks like an "A".........or NOT!!!

Think it is a period piece. Would look toward Europe for production. Maybe Austria?

Would that be considered art nouveau?
