Davey, since there are no relatives, what happens to the house. Who gets the proceeds from its sale? Please don't say it all goes to the lawyers.

If she made a will it will go to whoever is the beneficiary, I understand she took out an equity release in 2014 so a quarter of the value will go to the finance company.

Aren't there rules in the UK that allow search companies to go hunting next of kin, and then collect some of the proceeds? Sometimes there's a cousin or two somewhere who stands in line to inherit if there's no will.

I used to be able to see old episodes on Youtube before they took most of them down. Why anyone cares about USAians seeing old reruns of a UK-specific show is beyond me but that's money-grubbers for you.

That was an eye-popping video! Though, I must admit I have seen worse, in person. One wonders how such souls functioned at all, and what was in their minds? I hope you have a safe salvage and find lots of goodies!!

I've seen worse, this one should take 4 days, the video did not show the flies.

Here's one in 5 vids that I did last year, it was a 5 bed, 3 floor Victorian town house on the coast, the guy had hoarded for 60 years.
It took me 31 days, I earned a small fortune from it.

I would PAY to dig those houses! How do you start/apply to clean out buildings to ready for sale?
My ex used to do post construction cleaning to ready new houses for sale & did quite well - at the end she had 2 people working for her.
But there wasn't any hidden treasures to discover since they were new.

If a solicitor is involved, it's probably not bona vacantia.

Equity release is such a theft. I bet more than a quarter goes.

I think a solicitor is involved due to the equity release, they own part of the property.
I suppose if there are no relatives then it was a good way of raising cash because any assets were going to whoever is in the will.
It is clear she has spent a small fortune on mail order and charity shop junk.
I've found about 200 quartz watches with no batteries all priced at a £1 from various charities.
Dozens of modern model cars and buses still boxed.

The boxed Barbie collection is from the 70's I think.

There is tons yet to be discovered.

The main task begins tomorrow, removing all the waste and food so I can access the more valuable stuff and treasure :D

OMG if there is Sindy you MUST Show meeeee!! It's the law! xxxx

( ... there is also a little known law which states ... all Sindy's actually belong to me.
I can attest also that ... no you cannot have too many Sindy's as I think I actually own about half of the worlds' Sindy pop. And I need more) ( just in case there were ANY doubt :D )
