Is this a sweetheart pin/brooch from WW2 or WW1?

Hi all! This brass pin/brooch was listed at auction as "sweetheart WW2". I am wondering if it is WW2 or could it be earlier? The closure is a safety catch one, unsure it these were used as early as WW1? Also, should it be considered as one given to a sweetheart? Thanks so much for any info!

No. The Brodie helmet is associated with World War I. The M1 helmet is associated with World War II. (At least in the U.S. Don't know where you are.)
