Give it another go,it gets much better. I was also riveted by that case of those 2 ladies . Munchhausen by proxy on steroids! It still baffles me how the mother was able to keep all of the other doctors in the dark about each other. Did you see the interview with the daughter ? She seemed so calm and rational.

 

I liked the books more than the series.

Do try the Madame Blanc Mysteries, there's proper antique stuff.
