They are typically English ones, but mid/late Victorian, not Georgian. They are very common over here, you can buy them in box lots at auction.

I can't abide Harper. He spouts nonsense far too often and pays insane prices.

It was a bad day....I got about 40 miles when I 20220416_123335.jpg realized I left my purse at home. The bank wouldn't cash my check with expired photo id....I did have $100 in the car. Heading back home, I spied a monthly outdoor church yard sale. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this in the sunlight.

Hattie Carnegie saphiret. 27 saphirets in the necklace, one in the clasp. I got the dealer to give it to me for $64.

What are those dimpled saphiret stones called?

I bought about 10 things today at the vintage show. I hope to sell 8 of them, and make these two effectively free:

The seller told me the weaving was Mexican, but it's Navajo. The 9" jar is Mexican: Mata Ortiz.

Rats. Should have known. Still, they'll get the job done and are older by 100 years than anything else at that estate sale.

There's nothing wrong with them, and they were still cheap at the price, average retail in the UK is about £30 for some like this.

I agree. If he is on I switch off. I also find him very creepy.

I never heard of the guy. Where do you watch him?

He's quite nice in person, had a shop in Barnards Castle for years, not sure if he still has it. Problem with TV is they are told to bring up the energy and add persona, so most of them are kind of putting on an act and as they are not trained actors it can come across as odd.

This is HUGE. It's Aberdeen pink granite, in perfect condition.

    It was five quid.

Went to an estate sale over the weekend and found a few new additions to my hoard. The sale was in an "iffy" older industrial neighborhood, but I've found those sales are sometimes the ones to attend.

Those badge things can be real money, depending on the company. I bet that bank doesn't go for nothing either. And Bear's granite brooch... whee. We do NOT get those here for any price.
