    Hello all,
I'm wondering if anyone could give me any pointers on this (possibly antique) pipe:
    - Manufacturer
    - Roughly when it was made
    - Material
    - What the shape and/or model is called.
    Many thanks! IMG_20220411_101306.jpg IMG_20220411_101351.jpg IMG_20220411_101436.jpg IMG_20220411_101531.jpg IMG_20220411_101607.jpg

You can be sarcastic as you like Fid.

Meerschaum is a rock formed as a result of the hydration of magnesium and silicon found in Asia Minor. (mainly Turkey)
It was named sepiolite in the mid-19th century by a German mineralogist (EF Glocker) who noticed this rock. Sepiolite is named after the Greek name for squid , 'sepion'.
The German name of this mineral , 'Meerschaum' (sea foam), is also referring to the density of the mineral.

It is known as ערשאַום in Yiddish and 海泡石 in simple Chinese but throughout the world it is mainly known as Meerschaum as is generally from Turkey.

Wow that’s rude and uncalled for and not what I would expect to see here especially to such a knowledgeable and respected person as Davey.
I see so many incredibly knowledgeable people generously offer information to those wanting to learn. None of them demean others for a perceived or actual lack of knowledge.
@daveydempsey feel free to delete this if need be or let me know if you want me to.
