Hi all. Wasn't sure which forum they belong in. Lacquered covered boxes. Pretty small. 4 1/2" and 7" high. Both unmarked. Any information about them would be appreciated. Thanks for taking a look.

I'm not finding any Peaseware with such tall finials?

I could be totally off base but something about the lacquer wear looks "antiqued".

Neither am I. I just blurted out the word that popped into my mind the moment I looked at them, LOL. Now I'm starting to think it's something of a different nature.

Thanks for the replies. Up close it looks more like it's from a mold, rather than a lathe. I thought the tall one has an Asian feel?

Just to be sure you understood what I meant...
To me, they appear like contemporary decor, made to look antique.
But such items are not my forte, do wait for other opinions. :)

Yes, they look like southeast Asian lacquerware (Thailand or Burma/Myanmar). The lacquer is applied to wood forms, which could be lathe turned.

i bought some similar pieces when I was in Burma mid-90s. Many were black lacquered with gold leaf.
