I suspect this may be on that @Any Jewelry will like. A rather nice necklace with good earrings. Wires are goldplated. I'm thinking 19th C but if they are, the condition is superb.

Thoughts please? I know what I hope they are. ;)

I've not got a tester on the stones yet, but I'm thinking chrysoprase or similar. I can't decide on the age: the earrings certainly seem older as does that mark plaque. Each chain is 19cm, 7 1/2 inches. So not that long.

The stones are surely green dyed chalcedony, commonly called chrysoprase in jewellery. (Real chrysoprase of natural green color is rare!)

The set is probably German, I can’t identify the maker’s mark, I think around 1910, gut feeling:)
The clasp is so nice too:woot:

Dyed chalcedony makes sense. It's super quality: no flaws. I was thinking it was fairly early - and hoping maybe as old as Austro Hungarian, but hey. ;)

I think the clasp is lovely, too, the whole thing screams quality. Now, I need to get more adaptors for the earrings!

I think they're lovely, Bear - the necklace a bit better quality than the earrings (they're close, but not a matched set). Can't add much to Kyra's opinion - chalcedony/chrysoprase, most likely German, probably a Pforzheim maker, and around 1900-10; the hook is wonderful, but seems a bit odd and largish to my eye, wonder if perhaps a handmade replacement. Wanted it to be Heinrich Levinger when I saw the conjoined letters, but it just isn't - don't recognize the mark, and don't even have my Pforzheim jewelry book handy to look through...

Many thanks Cheryl - I did wonder if they were a slight marriage, the back of the earrings is a little more substantial if that makes sense - and there's no marcasite on the necklace. I can't see any sign that the hook has been replaced, but who knows. ;) The style of it looks familiar.

    More Hoard. Oh dear.

Is chrysoprase really rare? I think I have 4-5 pounds in the basement.

Gorgeous, obb. I'm late to the party, a lot going on here.
I agree with the others, ca 1910, German Jugendstil.
The stones could be genuine chrysoprase, a German favourite in the Jugendstil and Art Deco eras. Some chrysoprase was/is mined in Germany, but they got most of it from neighbouring Poland.
German and Polish chrysoprase was also used quite a lot in Dutch jewellery of the same periods.
The same age as late Austro-Hungarian, but not the desired Austro-Hungarian Renaissance/Baroque Revival style.
A stunning set though, and think I detect a bit of British Arts & Crafts influence. British designers went to the Darmstadt artist's colony before they went to Vienna. Pforzheim manufacturers made Darmstadt designs more accessible to a larger public.
I think they are a marriage, but a very happy one.

The hook seems to be original. Here's a similar necklace https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/152...how_sold_out_detail=1&ref=nla_listing_details
Identified as Burr Patterson jewelry, but wrongly I think.

Thank you for your kind message. Yes, i thought that it was incorrect. Easy mistake to make though, as the mark looks very similar.
I found this thread while trying identify my own necklace - posting it here, in the hope that one day we will find the answer. x
